Cactus from rotting to replanted!

There was a cactus rotting from too much water and perlite with too little sun. I asked a friend and took his advice to cut it until it was not brown inside. Then plant it in cactus soil and put it in the sun.

Bees like Phacelia

Phacelia is a native California wildflower that opens up like a fern. The bees love it! Also a good "green manure" folded in under compost and mulch.

Seed Starting

Started seeds for our new garden on April 10th, 2014. Roughly ten days later many but not all seeds had shown signs of germination. It is so awesome to see plants grow from a seed into seedlings and then onto full grown plants producing a wonderful bounty.

Garden after much needed rain.

LA has not had significant rain since late 2012. It rained last night and more, heavier rain to come in the next couple of days! This sunny day after rain. Will boost the garden.
